WRONGFUL CONVICTION DAY
Brief:
The Innocence Project of New Orleans works to free innocent and unjustly sentenced people who are imprisoned across the state of Louisiana. There is an international movement to raise awareness of the causes, effects, and remedies of wrongful convictions and it’s vital that our city become a part of this conversation. While a handful of them have received state compensation for the years they spent incarcerated, many have not and know they won’t. October 2, 2025, has been designated as a day of awareness.
